Laos translation+ ("the App") is a multilingual AI translation app focused on Lao language support. This page explains what data the App processes and how it is handled.
When you use text, voice, camera (image), or fortune-chat translation, the content you submit (text, recognized speech, or photo) is sent to Google's Gemini API and/or DeepL's translation API solely to generate the translation or chat response. This content is not used by us for any purpose other than producing your result, and is not sold or shared with advertisers.
If you choose to set a name and secret word in the fortune-chat feature, a small history of your conversation and a derived "persona" summary may be stored so the assistant can recall context across sessions. This is stored keyed by a one-way hash of your secret word — we do not store your secret word itself in readable form. You can stop using this feature at any time, and no memory is stored unless you opt in by providing a name and secret word.
Read-aloud audio is generated via Microsoft Azure Speech (Lao) or Google Translate TTS (other languages). The text you ask to have read aloud is sent to these services only to generate the audio.
The App may request microphone access (voice input) and camera access (photo translation). These are used only when you actively use the corresponding feature and are not accessed in the background.
Translation and chat content sent for processing (see Section 1) is processed transiently to produce your result and is not retained by us. The optional saved memory (see Section 2) is kept only until you request its removal or stop using the feature. To request deletion of your saved memory, contact us using the email in the Contact section below and include the name you used in the fortune-chat feature so we can locate and permanently delete the associated data.
